When you DIY projects goes bad
You have this amazing idea and you have a vision; you run with it and along the way you realise you are not the master “fixer that you thought and bada BUM. You DIY project just turned bad.
That seems to be how things goes for me when i try to do things on my own. Latest project was starting to install a bathroom elements for drawers, rooms and doors. When seemed like a bit of screws and clue turned out to be alot of misplaced (wrong) glue, bad screws, a screwdriver “head eating” monster and epoxy where epoxy is not suppose to be.
The point of this entry being. When you are new and your everyday is NOT about hammering and making things with your hands (I’m photographer and much better on the comptuer); then don’t be to shy to ask for help or advice. It’s an art form to make your constructions, especially on a boat where nothing seems to be straight and there are curves EVERYWHERE.
I learned this the hard way. After mistake after mistake and bad results pilling up; i got to a point where i snapped a photo of the boat and thought. “This would be a good sales photo”. I’ had it. My self esteem was low and the good times i had in the summer was outweighed with the bad times im having now….over failed projects.
Having a boat is a learning phase and it takes time. There are a ton of new things to understand and try to get your hands around as well. Have patience, make mistakes and then fix them.
