Præstø to Rødvig

December 29, 2019 – Præstø

At 6 o’clock the clock rings.
Has a wonderful huge hatch cover; can easily jump up and enjoy morning sun and weather …
It’s not something I want now. It is the cleanest palette of gray colors outside. There is, as a bonus, some water in the air …. snooze till 7:30.
At 9 o’clock the sun should have stood up and shed its warm light. It’s Denmark. It’s grey and no way of the sun breaking through.

The old lady is lying alone on the bridge;

what immediately seems like a newer Y bum bridge. At this time, it is more a spectacle of loathing and murder space for wildlife. It is bathed in shit in shades from the known white, to yellow, to brown, to colors I am sure are not healthy for any life. It becomes more noticeable when you find a bird’s leg over, and a set of bones arranged a little too nicely.

A murder scene

I get my shopping bag, my camera and explore Præstø.
In the best Kløvedal style I could write the next 20 pages about Præstø’s nature …. But most importantly knowing that it is an old trading town. It is characterized by the fact that it has had a good economy once. Nice houses, wide roads, great church and patina.

Buildings with Patina in Præstø

I spend the next hour walking around in a gray city with patina and soul.
Followed after shopping for the evening food and various … I return to the old lady. She’s lying mutters alone on the bridge as if there was something wrong with her and everyone else stuck … she now doesn’t fault anything and keeps me safe. Fun that boats grows on one.
Today, 6-13 m / s and after sunset promise a good night’s sleep. Sunday was going to be with some sun and weak wind. I feel this is it for Præstø, and set a course for Rødvig Stevns.

Tomorrow I want to go to Stevns Klint and fire, and spend the day taking pictures.
The trip to Stevns is really not exciting. Præstø fjord softly says farewell with a hint of ; “Come back this summer when I get the color.

Præstø fjord

“A boat trip is not memorable if its not exciting or something goes wrong”. A message I learned from a mentor. An old man who found the joy in sailing off season to destinations where people are sparse.

Grey on grey view

With only the sail set, the speed swung between 3-5 knots and the boat rocked in the coils that grew larger along the way. The only downside that happened was that I plugged everything I wanted charged to the inverter and started Verner … I have names for many things. The engine is a Vetus and the closest I could find was Verner; or Mighty Yellow. Have had a teacher named Verner; An old man whose field had run out of him … Much can be said, but when you needed a council, the same story or a quarrel about how the present was … then he worked. Verner, the engine is much younger but still stable and ready when it is.
I arrive at Rødvig and lie the old lady longship. During the night it should blow up and the wind direction turn. Two directions; one will mass the ship towards the quay and the other away so she hangs in the moorings. It will be a long night, because when it hurts her, it hurts me.
