A liveaboards cure for seasickness
But don’t you ever get seasick when you live on a boat? Nope; and here is why.
Fun and facing nature head on is my best cure for seasickness…The general rule of thumb is that you should stare or at least face forward the horizon. That’s fine but i suggest my hard smitten guest on board to go and scream at the sea. Hell yeah… and take the wheel and have fun with it. Feel the ship and the sails. Feel the power…have fun with it. Doesn’t take long for the gut wrenching feel to disappear.
Seasickness, in my head, comes from the body’s boredom and lack of sensory understanding of why things are tilting, rolling or bouncing. If you are just sitting in a cockpit doing nothing, maybe even reading, your body doesn’t understand why it is moving differently.
So next time you feel a bit weird on the big blue, go take control over the situation instead of letting it control you
